The Merriwa MPS is a 25-bed facility that was built in 2009 and is one of six health services located in the Hunter Valley Sector. The hospital provides emergency, acute, residential aged care, respite, palliative and community service.

Merriwa MPS is supported by visiting medical officers and doctors who are located in larger hospitals via telehealth technology.

Telehealth technology also allows doctors and specialists based in Maitland Hospital to assess patients via videoconference with the support of staff in Merriwa.

Fly into Sydney. Train from Sydney to Muswellbrook daily. Then bus to Merriwa 3 x week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday departs Muswellbrook 9:25am. Depart Merriwa to Muswellbrook 4:50pm 3 x week Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Bus stop is a 10 minute walk to Hospital.

Jerilderie MPS provides a 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department which is equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Jerilderie with specialists through the Critical Care Advisory Service and doctors in nearby towns during the on call weekends.

There are two alternate ways to get to Jerilderie from Sydney.

Fly to Wagga Wagga then catch daily bus service OR fly to Griffith then catch daily bus service to Jerilderie. Bus drop off point is in Main Street, 22 minute walk to Hospital. Buses depart Jerilderie to both destinations daily in the morning.

Females share one shower with a sink and males share one shower with NO sink, both showers are in the same room along with the laundry. In separate room, females share one toilet, Males share one toilet, both toilets are in same room separated by stall side by side.(same setup as in public showers/toilets)

From Melbourne there are two alternatives, Catch a train to Ballarat and connecting Bus or train to Ararat and connecting Bus. Depending on the time of day. The return trip Bus leaves Hopetoun at 7.15am 6 days a week.
