The Merriwa MPS is a 25-bed facility that was built in 2009 and is one of six health services located in the Hunter Valley Sector. The hospital provides emergency, acute, residential aged care, respite, palliative and community service.
Merriwa MPS is supported by visiting medical officers and doctors who are located in larger hospitals via telehealth technology.
Telehealth technology also allows doctors and specialists based in Maitland Hospital to assess patients via videoconference with the support of staff in Merriwa.
Fly into Sydney. Train from Sydney to Muswellbrook daily. Then bus to Merriwa 3 x week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday departs Muswellbrook 9:25am. Depart Merriwa to Muswellbrook 4:50pm 3 x week Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Bus stop is a 10 minute walk to Hospital.
Nurses accommodation is on site.
NO undercover parking.
The house has four bedrooms two rooms have a double bed/ two single bed and TV point in each room if you want to BYO. Otherwise a TV in lounge area.
Bedrooms are separated from main living area by door to help reduce noise.
All rooms have an en-suite.
ON SITE:
- All bed linen supplied. NOTE:Towels are from the hospital.
- Bed already made on your arrival.
- washing machine
- dryer
- iron and ironing board
- cooking equipment
- plates,cups,utensils all supplied.
- Dishwasher.
- central A/C and heating in main areas.
- Each room has own reverse cycle A/C & heating.
- NO wifi
There is one supermarket in town.
– IGA 10 minute walk-Nearest alternates:-Coles, Woolworths in Scone 48 minute by car.-Coles, Woolworths in Muswellbrook 53 minute by car.-Coles, Woolworths, Aldi in Mudgee 1hr20min by car.-NO bus service.-NO taxi service.
